A residual cognitive contract that keeps versioned obligations, refusals and per-invocation visibility explicit.
What it means
in GenOS.
A contract can make residual obligations explicit before a model invocation. The software mechanism combines typed admission, dependency tracking and visibility receipts; it does not prove the model understood its prompt.
Admit → Resolve obligations → Attest visibility
Let O be versioned obligations and D their dependency DAG. Invoke only when admission A(input)=true; record hash H(prompt), recipient and model for each call, and retire o∈O only with a valid receipt.
Explore the mechanism: G-CIR
A qualitative teaching model of this concept. It does not run GenOS or validate its implementation.
The modeled transition may proceed. Change the assumption and move through the stages to inspect the decision path.
How it works
at a glance.
Admit
Require a target, supported typed input, coherent context, budget and authorization before any model call. Invalid fields and projections over 16 KiB are refused.
Resolve obligations
Keep dependencies and the remaining cognitive question explicit; completed local work can be omitted only with a recorded reason.
Attest visibility
Persist rendered fragments, prompt digests, recipient, model and session revision. Invalidate expired or compacted fragments and recheck visibility when resuming.
What is connected,
and how far.
The published runtime persists session visibility and invalidation events, and shares versioned Node/Rust contracts. READ, CALL, CHECK and EMIT require authorized bindings; a model response never supplies its own proof or authority. Rust production backends, general mission compilation, topology control and empirical PGO qualification remain incomplete.
The Node Omega gateway executes six guarded operations, with session visibility, MMU resolution and verification receipts. Legacy signal and Trinity adapters remain supported; general free-form mission compilation and complete Rust production bindings remain open.
A tool-accessible artifact is not necessarily seen by a model. · A repeated signal must not trigger an unbounded new inference. · A failed or in-flight invocation cannot be treated as a completed answer.
No implementation file is pinned to this concept entry yet.

An axiomatic basis for computer programming
C. A. R. Hoare · Communications of the ACM 12(10), 576–580
Sets out axiomatic reasoning about program correctness. A checked property is only as relevant as its specification and assumptions.
Open publication ↗Primary research describes the cited mechanism; specific technologies may instead cite their original technical documentation. These sources provide context and do not validate the GenOS implementation.
