SUPERVISION/BOUNDED EXECUTION
03 / BOUNDED EXECUTION

Make resource limits
part of the plan.

Budgets define how much time, work or model usage a run may consume. The supervisor can surface spend against its declared ceiling and make exhaustion an explicit execution outcome.

EXAMPLE MODEL This page describes a runtime surface; values and events are illustrative.
BUDGET SIGNALS

A reviewable
sequence.

Each transition keeps its relationship to the mission and the state that authorized it. That makes later review more useful than a detached success message.

01 · DECLARE

Set a ceiling

Attach time, step, token or other configured limits to the mission and its workers.

01
02 · ALLOCATE

Reserve for work

Assign bounded shares to workers or branches so parallel execution has a known envelope.

02
03 · MEASURE

Track consumption

Keep observed use beside the requested ceiling and retain budget events in the run history.

03
04 · ENFORCE

Stop or continue by policy

When a limit is reached, record the outcome and require an allowed continuation decision.

04
WHAT THE OPERATOR CAN INSPECT

Context is part
of the control.

Timeelapsed / limitRun-level duration
Worksteps / allowanceProgress has an explicit ceiling
Tokensused / allocatedUsage is attributed to execution

RUNTIME PRINCIPLE
A budget is an upper bound, not a promise that the configured work will finish within it.
