Declarative procedures support isolated before/after decision replay, transactional consolidation, contextual Holobiont recall and transitive invalidation. Arbitrary text procedures and general agent memory remain outside this guarantee.

Documentation markers describe linked material, not verified GenOS behavior. Simulation and benchmark flags remain partial until a concept-specific artifact is linked.

DEFINITION AND SCIENCE

What it means
in GenOS.

IN ONE SENTENCE

Stores counterexamples and gates their reuse in later work.

BIOLOGICAL / SCIENTIFIC BASIS

A counterexample falsifies a universal claim under its stated assumptions. The cambium metaphor denotes a growing store of such examples, with conditions retained for valid reuse.

GENOS TRANSLATION

Capture → Replay compression → Recall within scope

MATHEMATICAL / LOGICAL MODEL

For claim ∀x∈D:P(x), a witnessed x*∈D with ¬P(x*) is a counterexample. Reuse requires matching domain and assumptions, not surface similarity.

A qualitative teaching model of this concept. It does not run GenOS or validate its implementation.

PROCESS AND USE

How it works
at a glance.

01

Capture

Record a counterexample with source, version and the claim it challenges.

02

Replay compression

Run original witness and counterexample cases in a bounded worker. Refuse a compressed procedure that changes a declared decision.

03

Recall within scope

Revalidate evidence, environment version, conditions and ancestors. Abstain outside the attested domain and propagate supported invalidation to descendants.

RUNTIME IMPLEMENTATION

What is connected,
and how far.

Replay is limited to structured declarative procedures and at most 10,000 cases in a resource-bounded worker. An arbitrary comparator or success boolean is not proof; timeout refuses compression. Preserving known decisions does not show that all future failures are covered.

IMPLEMENTATION DETAIL

Declarative procedures support isolated before/after decision replay, transactional consolidation, contextual Holobiont recall and transitive invalidation. Arbitrary text procedures and general agent memory remain outside this guarantee.

FAILURE MODES

Failure modes have not yet been separately cataloged for this entry; follow the source and evidence links before relying on the mechanism.

Sets out axiomatic reasoning about program correctness. A checked property is only as relevant as its specification and assumptions.

EVIDENCE AND LIMITS

A counterexample is evidence, not an automatic repair
